This certification validates a candidate's ability to build data processing applications with Apache Spark using the PySpark DataFrame and Dataset APIs, Spark SQL, and Structured Streaming. The exam assesses knowledge of Spark's architecture and execution model (driver, executors, jobs, stages, tasks, DAG, lazy evaluation, narrow vs wide transformations, shuffles, caching, AQE), selecting/manipulating/filtering/joining/aggregating data via the DataFrame API and SQL, tuning and troubleshooting DataFrame workloads, developing Structured Streaming pipelines with watermarking and checkpointing, deploying applications with Spark Connect, and using the Pandas API on Spark. All code snippets on the exam are in Python (PySpark), and content is aligned to Apache Spark 3.5.
