An overview of what this certification covers
This certification assesses a candidate's ability to build, test, deploy, govern, and debug analytics models with dbt against a cloud data warehouse, using SQL with Jinja templating, YAML configuration, and the dbt command-line interface. The exam evaluates knowledge of dbt models and materializations, sources, seeds, snapshots, generic and singular tests, macros and packages, model governance (contracts, versions, access), external dependencies (exposures, source freshness), pipeline troubleshooting, and state-based selectors such as defer and `state:modified+`. Items present Jinja-templated SQL, `dbt_project.yml` / `schema.yml` excerpts, and CLI invocations and ask which dbt mechanism applies, what is wrong, or which command fixes the scenario.
