The Associate Cloud Engineer certification assesses a candidate's ability to set up a Google Cloud solution environment, plan and implement cloud resources, operate deployed workloads, and configure access and security. The exam covers resource hierarchy and billing setup; project and Cloud Identity configuration; compute placement across Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Run, and Cloud Run functions; storage and database selection across Cloud Storage classes, Persistent Disk, Hyperdisk, Cloud SQL, Spanner, Firestore, BigQuery, Bigtable, and AlloyDB; VPC, firewall, hybrid, and load balancing configuration; monitoring and logging with Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Ops Agent, and Managed Service for Prometheus; and IAM policies, service accounts, impersonation, and short-lived credentials. The standard exam guide that becomes effective on 06/30/2026 reflects the platform rename from Vertex AI to Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform and adds Gemini Cloud Assist as an in-scope tool.
