The SnowPro Specialty: Gen AI (GES-C02) certification validates a candidate's ability to design, build, govern, and operate generative AI solutions on the Snowflake AI Data Cloud. The exam tests applied knowledge of the Snowflake Cortex AI suite of features and functions (AI functions including AI_COMPLETE, AI_EXTRACT, AI_PARSE_DOCUMENT, AI_CLASSIFY, AI_SENTIMENT, AI_EMBED, AI_FILTER, AI_AGG, AI_SIMILARITY, AI_TRANSCRIBE, AI_REDACT, vector functions for similarity and distance, plus helper functions; Cortex Search for RAG and hybrid retrieval; Cortex Analyst for text-to-SQL with semantic views; Cortex Agents for orchestration; Cortex Code, Cortex Knowledge Extensions, and Snowflake Intelligence; cross-region inference and Model Context Protocol). It assesses building and fine-tuning open-source models with Snowpark Container Services and the Snowflake Model Registry, governance through RBAC and account-level allowlists with the CORTEX_USER, CORTEX_ANALYST_USER, CORTEX_AGENT_USER, and CORTEX_EMBED_USER roles, cost management through usage views like CORTEX_AISQL_USAGE_HISTORY and CORTEX_SEARCH_DAILY_USAGE_HISTORY, AI observability via TruLens evaluation metrics, and end-to-end document processing pipelines using AI_PARSE_DOCUMENT (OCR and LAYOUT modes) plus AI_EXTRACT plus Streams and Tasks orchestration.
